Set entirely in the beautiful grounds of the private Somerley Estate setting in Ringwood, the race provides a picturesque kick-start to the New Year.

Now in its 11th year, the Somerley event has become one of the largest charity running events in the region.

In a strong effort to burn off those Christmas calories and blow away the festive cob webs, Katrina Yerbury took to the hills, slopes and steps and completed the challenging course in a very commendable time of 84mins 05sec.  Hopefully she also had time to take in some of the surrounding views of Mole Gap, Denbies Vineyard and the sweeping views across Dorking!  Well done Katrina and great costume.  It was a job to recognise you!

A fine start to the year for Zoom club members and no doubt 2012 will bring many more results and achievements.  Good luck to all.

On Sunday the 18^th December a handful of members took off to Portsmouth for the annual winter Portsmouth Marathon.  The conditions were good, the pace was set and all three club members ran a fantastic race achieving some great times.  Well done guys.

The previous week or so on the 27^th November was the Boscombe 10k which saw four club members running some great times also.  An all round good effort and great times to be recorded.  Goes to show that all the club training has been put to good use.  Well done to you all.

To all club members, keep up the training and hard work through the winter and have a great Christmas.

Although the table below only shows five names there have been many, many members throughout the club that have had great achievements in the year and could easily have taken any of the awards.  The decision on who wins what was very close in all the areas and was decided by club members and the opportunity to vote in each category.

Well done to the finalists: Pat Robbins, Chris Booth, Robbie Ryan, Sarah Barrett and Corinne Ellison.

To everybody else, keep up the hard work and who knows, ‘It could be you’!

Katrina completed the 10 mile road race in a time of 1Hr 13min 50secs and came in 961^st overall, breaking her own PB and also making her the 93^rd female.

Well done Katrina a great run and a great result.

Our AGM is on the 17th of November and ALL members are welcome. This is your chance to shape the club to how you want it. A chance to see what goes on and what decisions are being made which effect you. The food is free and it will be held at the littledown centre after running, so 8pm start.

The committee would love to have new committee members and anyone wishing to take part in the committee at whatever level would be very welcome.

Whether you have just joined or have been a member for years now is your chance to have your say and help us grow the club and make it even better in 2012.

Helen set off on the Milford & Keyhaven 5 mile road race (24^th Oct 2011) with sheer determination and will power, and came across the line to take 3^rd place in the Female Vet category.

With a time of 40min 37sec Wendy also claimed 9^th Overall Female.

Excellent show or courage Helen, well done.

 Katrina Yerbury also competed in the Ferndown Try-a-Tri the week before with several other club members and was 3^rd lady overall – awesome!
